BLOBFISH Looks like a floating piece of slime. This gelatinous mass inhabits the deep waters of Australia and Tasmania. It floats just above the bottom and eats what is eatable on it's way. ![]() ANGLER FISH Angler fish lives on the bottom of the sea. They have exceptionally large heads and huge translucent teeth. ![]() AXOLOTL The axolotl is only native to Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco in central Mexico. Axolotls are also sold as food in Mexican markets, and were a staple in the Aztec diet. ![]() BASKING SHARK Basking shark is one of the largest fish on planet. Shark's huge mouth looking like a bone-tube are harmless because they feeds on small fish and zooplankton. DUMBO FISH The deep-sea “Dumbo” octopus got its nickname from the ear-like fins protruding from the top of their “heads” (actually bodies), resembling the ears of Walt Disney ’s flying elephant . They are benthic creatures, living at extreme depths, and are some of the rarest of the Octopoda species. ![]() FANGTOOTH The Fangtooth fish is found in midwater depths of about five kilometers (three miles). They are extremely muscular and their teeth are so long that when the jaw is shut, the lower pair must slide into special sheathes on either side of the fish’s brain to avoid impaling it. ![]() LAMPREY Lamprey attach themselves to fish using their toothy mouths and suck all their body juices.
